Our newest addition to the PU Team is Miss Natalya Shevchuk - dancer, dance teacher, soon-to-be-physiotherapist extraordinaire!
Natalya is Postmark Ukraine’s first ever overseas Ambassador, and she opens the PU doors for anyone in need of Ukrainian-made dancewear, dance footwear, dance costuming, vyshyvanky, and so much more in the heart of the Ukrainian dancing capital of the west - Saskatoon!
Having been tapping her toes since the age of 4, Natalya hails from the amazing North Battleford, where she studied ballet, tap, jazz, and Ukrainian (of course) before joining the Pavlychenko Folklorique Ensemble in 2014.
When she was 16, Natalya travelled to Ukraine for the first time to participate in the Virsky Spring Training program. Those two weeks inspired her to take her training to the next level. After graduating high school in 2017, Natalya toured with PFE to Eastern Europe, with the highlight of performing at the Lviv Opera House. 12 days after returning to Canada, Natalya was back in Ukraine, but this time for 10 months on the inaugural Ukrainian Dance World’s dance immersion program. Here is where her love of everything Ukrainian was able to thrive. She was fortunate to train alongside professional ensembles such as Virsky Studio, Lviv College of Arts and Culture, the Bukovyna and Poltava State Ensembles, and the Volyn State Choir.
Since returning back to Canada, Natalya has continued to share her love of Ukrainian dance with the next generation, by teaching at various dance schools across the province, including Verba Ukrainian Dance Club, Hafford Cheremka Dancers, Prud’homme Ukrainian Dance Group, Rushnychok Ukrainian Folk Dance Association, Saskatoon School of Dance, as well as with Rodovid Academy of Ukrainian Dance.
Starting this year, Natalya adds to her many roles Postmark Ukraine’s first ever overseas ambassador and we couldn’t be more pleased.
We welcome you onboard dear Natalochka and can’t wait to share through you the incredible creativity coming out of Ukraine with the west of Canada.
