Ukrainian Ковиль - Kovil', or feather grass, is a rare treasure that grows in the steppes of the country. We had the amazing opportunity to meet Maria, to whom we’ll introduce you in another post, who allowed us to gather dozens of stocks in the late summer months. Today, we are thrilled to introduce this an option for you and your costuming needs!
Even in the modern world, the magical properties of this unusual grass is known. 
Not only today, but also centuries ago, our ancestors understood the importance of plants, grasses, flowers, and herbs. Just as today, it is said that kovil' protects against evil spirits, helps to promote trade and transactions in business, and ensure the well-being and development of each who come into contact with it. 
As well, traditional medicine has long appreciated the beneficial properties of kovil'. It is has often been used in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, unexplainable joint pain, and multiple sclerosis, to name a few. 
Not only useful, this native Ukrainian grass is used for its beauty also, in the decoration of both men and women, creating beautiful hats and headdresses.
